Following a lovely ceremony at St Mary's Church in Hertingfordbury (see here), Rose & Morgan celebrated their wedding at Essendon Country Club. Here is just a selection of their Essendon wedding photography.
Unfortunately the weather had turned by this stage and was positively autumnal despite it being almost exactly mid-summer. Lucky then that Essendon Country Club is on a golf course. Those golf umbrellas came in very useful from the start.
Rose's late arrival at the church (see more about that here) ha meant timings were a bit tighter than we had planned. Flexibility is pretty important as a wedding photographer - very rarely does everything turn out exactly as planned. So no problem here - the more formal photos were postponed in favour of Rose & Morgan having some time with their guests and celebrating being married.
As always, this time flies by and before we knew it the kitchen were ready to serve the wedding breakfast. The speeches included a particularly emotional one from Morgan, explaining how Rose had saved him in some harder moments of his life and how she had been such an amazing mum to his daughter. There were a few tears at this point (including from the photographer!). Morgan's brother did a pretty good job of lightening the mood with his Best Man's speech straight after.
There was a brief respite from the rain at this point so I grabbed the new Mr and Mrs, a couple of golf buggies, and my cameras, and we went for a drive round the golf course. Unfortunately, the respite lasted until we got to our first photo location. Still, Rose and Morgan were great sports and dipped in and out of the buggies two or three times at suitable locations to get some lovely photos.
We were back with everyone else in plenty of time for welcoming the evening guests. Ahead of the cake cutting, Rose threw the bouquet. And, not to be left out, Morgan threw the rugby ball! I don't think we ever worked out what that signified, but his brother was the lucky (or unlucky) catcher.
Cake cut, first dance done, and the evening celebrations got underway. I stayed for about 30 minutes - plenty of time to get some shots of the evening atmosphere. Judging from what I saw, it was going to be a pretty good party!
Another great Essendon wedding - congratulations Rose & Morgan, and thanks to you both, Essendon Country Club and all the other suppliers who made for such a great day.
