Below you'll find a selection of Hertford Castle wedding photography from Gemma & Richard's big day, in May 2019.
As a wedding photographer born and bred in Hertford I had always wanted to have the opportunity to be involved in a Hertford Castle wedding. I see it as a great representation of the town - blending in to the town centre, but maintaining great history, character and tradition. So I was naturally delighted when Gemma & Richard contacted me about their big day.
The day didn't disappoint - a lovely relaxed affair, running smoothly throughout, thanks largely to the great work of Jackie and her team. I spent a nice couple of hours with Gemma and her bridesmaids first, before getting across to the Castle. Where I found Richard, I don't think he'll mind me saying, with a few nerves (This is not unusual by the way - the groom may often say they won't be nervous in the run-up, but come the day they are often the ones that feel it most!).
Gemma arrived in a stunning old Buick (picture below!), and throughout a lovely ceremony Richard's nerves visibly reduced. By the time they walked out of the beautiful oak doors and through their confetti tunnel as husband and wife, they were perfectly relaxed and ready to enjoy their celebrations.
The sun was shining, making this the perfect place for reception drinks. After which I took Gemma & Richard off for a short loop of the beautiful grounds. We used the lovely old walls, gates and archways throughout to try to capture the essence of the Castle. And had a bit of fun at the same time!
Congratulations again to Gemma & Richard, and thanks for letting me share in your special day. And for giving me my first experience of Hertford Castle wedding photography!
