Being a Hertford boy, born and bred, it was a pleasure to photograph my first Hertford Registry Office wedding, for Katie and Joe, at the start of April this year.
It was a lovely day, filled with love and fun – very suitable for a couple obviously so happy to have found each other. It was heart-warming to see them . Joe won’t mind me saying he was a bit nervous before the ceremony (as one specific photo below shows!); but his demeanour changed completely as his beautiful bride walked in to the room. Katie was positively beaming and her relaxed, joyous mood was immediately transferred to Joe.
After a lovely ceremony, the happy couple were congratulated by their guests in the sunshine outside Hertford Registry Office. And then, as the guests left for Ware Priory and the reception drinks, I kept Katie and Joe for a little longer. We spent a bit of time in the lovely little courtyard which was just starting to get the first colours of spring; before moving to the wonderful arches just around the corner from the ceremony room. I love these arches – they have a feeling of such great grandeur and history. And make for pretty nice photos! The photos of Katie and Joe here are my favourite from the day.
After 20 minutes or so, we left County Hall, to join up with the guests at Ware Priory.
Part 2, covering the reception and evening celebrations, filled with fun, laughter and much dancing is to follow shortly.
I have another Hertford Registry Office wedding to look forward to in May, so watch this space for more variations on this them!
