I find winter to be an especially nice time to look back on last year’s summer weddings, and Priscilla & Daniel’s big day is a great example. A lovely sunny day, a beautiful big church ceremony in St Albans, followed by a relaxed marquee reception at the London Shenley Club. Below you can find the St Albans wedding photography, and you can see the reception that followed by clicking here.
I met Priscilla and her bridesmaids in the morning – all very excited, some a little nervous – and just in time for bridal hair styling and make-up, courtesy of Samantha Allen.
Spirits were similarly high when I got to the church. With many of Dan’s large family having come over from Mauritius they were naturally excited to all be together, and in such happy circumstances. For me, the atmosphere outside the church there set the tone for the rest of the day.
Of course, the girls aren’t the only ones who take meticulous care over their appearance – the guys gotta look good for the big day as well!
It’s a Mauritian tradition that the groom should escort his mum down the aisle before the ceremony, so Dan made sure this was observed.
Priscilla seemed to be embracing the Mauritian traditions already – keeping everyone waiting for her arrival! Still, it gave the boys more chance to make sure they were looking their best.
Priscilla did eventually arrive, in a wonderful old Rolls Royce, and looking stunning. And thoroughly excited!
Cue the nerves kicking in for Dan…
Personally, I thought it was a lovely ceremony, but clearly not all guests were quite as engaged by it!
Outside the church there was time for a quick shot of Priscilla & Dan with their guests…
…and just a few of the new Mr and Mrs Rassaby…
…before they left to join up with their guests again for the celebrations.
