Whilst I’ve done several family shoots there (you can see an example here), my first Ware Priory wedding was for the reception and evening celebrations of Katie & Joe. They got married at Hertford Registry Office (you can see my post about that here: Hertford Registry Office wedding), before heading to Ware Priory for their reception drinks, wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
Although, if the original plan had stood, I would still not have experienced a Ware Priory wedding. Katie & Joe originally booked a lovely little pub nearer to where they live in Nuthampstead, which is where we met a couple of months before the big day to run through all the details. But soon after that unfortunately the pub had some flood damage that wouldn’t be fixed in time. So, if they didn’t have enough on their plates leading up to the wedding, Katie & Joe now had to find a new venue at short notice. They did brilliantly with Ware Priory though. Close to the registry office where they were married; the perfect size for their wedding; and picturesque, sitting as it does on the banks of the River Lea. I think it’s fair to say it all worked out very well in the end!!
The sun shone for the reception drinks, and although the clouds did start to gather it was just in time for moving inside for afternoon tea. In the evening, the dancefloor filled up quickly; with my personal highlight being Katie leading everyone in a perfectly choreographed rendition of ‘Saturday Night’ (see below!).
Congratulations again Katie and Joe – not just on your marriage, but for organising such a great day. And thanks for letting me be a part of it.
